MOVIE DIALOG OF THE DAY ― BATTLE CIRCUS (1953)

Connection with the previous post (MASH): BATTLE CIRCUS was originally to be titled MASH, but the producers thought people would think it was about potatoes, so the title was changed.

RATINGS: IMDB ― 5.8/10, Rotten Tomatoes ― N/A%, ME ― DNS%

Unfortunately, no dialog available.

Trivia (From IMDB):

The film originally had a different title but the studio and the director thought that title would mislead audiences, so "Battle Circus" was instead chosen. The original title that was rejected was "MASH 66," which referred to the same Mobile Army Surgical Hospital unit in the Korean War later made famous in both the film MASH (1970) and the TV series _"M.A.S.H." (1972)_.

Humphrey Bogart accidentally set his left thumb afire with lighter fluid while filming the scene in which his character burns some documents. The accident is visible in the film.

The opening credits show the complete unit name as MASH 8666, Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, above the movie title.

This was Humphrey Bogart's only film for MGM.

Robert Keith, who played the colonel, also played an army colonel in the film Men at War.
